Notifications of Election Commission of Pakistan on Minorities seats are unconstitutional

Karachi: March 27, 2013. The notification of appointment of returning officers for reserved seats of minorities and women in election 2013 are unconstitutional said Chief of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC Dr. Nazir S Bhatti.

Dr. Nazir S Bhatti said "There is no one man one vote practice on 10 reserved seats for minorities and 60 reserved seats of women which is true spirit of democracy then whats need to appoint Returning officers to conduct elections like 272 general seats which will be filled by one man one vote"

"The National Assembly of Pakistan and Provincial Assemblies elections can not be claimed fair and transparent when one part of these houses is Elected by votes and one part is Selected some Muslim parties leaders" said Nazir Bhatti

PCC Chief said that Pakistan is very strange state where "Might is Right" in every field of life weather these are higher courts or so-called democratic elections because we believed that Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Itikhar Mohammad Chaudry and Champion of Justice sytem Justice (Rtd.) Farkhar-U-Din G. Ibrahim as Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan will struck down unconstitutional election practices in holding transparent and fair elections in Pakistan but they have disappointed religious minorities of Pakistan on issue of reserved seats in parliamen when there was petition in SC to hold election 2013 under Article 226 of constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan but honorable Chief Justice not bothered to listen it nor Chief Election Commissioner took any notice of numerious memorandum presented to him.

"Is not strange that 272 seats in house of National Assembly are elected through direct votes but 70 seats of same house are filled with unconstitutional Selection system which empowers under propotional system to Muslim parties in same house to handpick their relatives or after taking heavey bribes to fill reserved seats but it never invited attention of SCP or ECP?" added Nazir Bhatti

Dr. Nazir S Bhatti said that Election 2013 are not fair and transparent because these are substandrad elections and unconstitutional in which practice of Article 226 of constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan is applied on 272 seats of National Assembly but denied on 10 reserved for minorities and 60 reserved seats for women which makes elections 2013 doubtful.

Pakistan Christian Congress demands one man one vote on all 342 seats of National Assembly of Pakistan and Provincial Assemblies.

Nazir Bhatti said that there is still time for Election Commission of Pakistan to hold Elections on reserved seats for minorities under Dual Voting Right unless it is too late and Christian pull them out of these undemocratic elections.
