Pakistani Christians observing Minority Day as “Day of Slavery”

Karachi: August 10, 2013. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC in a message on August 11, 2013, which was declared as “Minority Day” by former Pakistan Peoples Party PPP government said “It is not Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam then how we can observe this day to remember his milestone speech in Karachi on August 11, 1947, because after formation of East Pakistan as Bangladesh in 1971, there is no more Pakistan of Mohammad Ali Jinnah”

Dr. Nazir Bhatti said “The Muslim majority divided Pakistan and changed image of Pakistan presented by founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah during Pakistan Movement in sub-continent of India with independence of Bangladesh and now conspiracies are underway by Muslims to divide remaining Pakistan in more ethnic divisions then what it means to mark Minority Day for Christians in Pakistan?”

“It was blunder of All India Christian Association leaders like SP Singha and Raliaram to support Pakistan Movement and decision to live with People of Book known as Muslims in Pakistan and voted for All india Muslim League in Round Table Conferences in London in 1030-32 for formation of Pakistan and to vote before Boundary Commission to fall Eastern Punjab in lot of Pakistan on assurances of Mohammad Ali Jinnah that Christians will enjoy equal rights in Pakistan” added Dr. Nazir Bhatti

The PCC Chief said that Christians are living like slaves in Pakistan nor like equal citizens as promised by founder of Pakistan then speech of Mohammad Ali Jinnah on August 11, 1947, is meaningless issue and observance of “Minority Day” on this day is living in fool’s paradise.

Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that Minority Day is not moved to Canada but none is ready to observe it in Pakistan and some Christians of Pakistani origin are celebrating it in Canada to support some Muslim elements in Pakistan.

PCC Chief said that I am not surprised that government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group is not holding any official moot on Minority Day because it is not Muslim League of Mohammad Ali Jinnah nor it is following ideology of Pakistan.

“PPP government snatched from Pakistani Christians the Minorities Ministry to diminish our identity and PML (N) government have abolished Interfaith Ministry which is clear index that Muslims in PPP or PML (N) are not friends of Christians” said Nazir Bhatti

Nazir Bhatti urged Pakistani Christians to mark August 11, 2013, not as a Minority Day but day of formation of Separate Pakistani Christian Province where they may enjoy equal rights  and freedom instead of slavery of Muslims.
