PCC demands immediate suspension of Passport officer at Pakistan Embassy in Bangkok
Philadelphia: June 7, 2017. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has strongly condemned incident of attempt to rape by one named Mohammad Ayaz designated as Passport officer in Islamic Republic of Pakistan Embassy in Bangkok of Pakistani Christian woman who is asylum seeker and duly registered with UNHCR Bangkok office and approached for renewal of her passport to Pakistani Mission.
A Pakistani Christian family with surname of Ishaq fled from Pakistan on persecution and reached in Thailand like thousands of other Pakistani Christian families who are waiting for process of their refugee status with offices of UNHCR.
According to Non-Governmental organizations working for displace people, there were about 12,000 Pakistani Christians who reached Thailand and applied for asylum with UNHCR in 2009.
At present, there are about 4,000 Pakistani Christian asylum seekers in Thailand while others have been resettled in Western countries and more than 2,000 have been forced to go back to Pakistan on conspiracies of ISI and IB agents stationed in Embassy of Pakistan in Bangkok.
Ms. Maherwar Ishaq who’s passport was expired sought help of one visiting NGO leader Chowdhry Wilson from London who took her to Pakistani Mission in Bangkok in October 2016.
The Passport officer named Mohammad Ayaz met with Chowdhry Wilson and Ms Ishaq in Pakistan Embassy and assured to renew her passport after proper documentation required.
Mr. Chowdhry who head British Pakistani Christian Association BPCA with satisfaction that Ms Ishaq passort will be renewed went back to London.
Mohammad Ayaz, Passport officer at Pakistan Embassy in Bangkok started calling Ms Ishaq on her cell number which she posted on her application but never renewed her passport after presenting documents which he required.
Ms. Ishaq reported sexual advancements of Mohammad Ayaz to Mr. Chowdhry on which he visited Bangkok and with help of journalist recorded conversation of Mr. Ayaz when he invited Ms Ishaq out of embassy.
Dr. Nazir Bhatti said “It is shameful act on part of interior ministry and ministry of foreign affair of Pakistan on their treatment with Pakistani Christians abroad in their missions that their employees demand sexual advancement from women”
PCC chief demanded Ch. Nisar, interior Minister of Pakistan to take immediate action against passport officer at Embassy of Pakistan in Bangkok on attempt of rape towards applicant of renewal of her passport.
