Nawaz Sharif UNGA speech contrary to human rights situation of minorities in Pakistan

New York: September 22, 2016. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC commenting on Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif’s speech in General Assembly of United Nations UNGA on September 21, 2016, has said that it have disappointed 20 million Pakistani Christians who have been treated as 2nd class citizen while he invites attention of international community on situation of Palestinian and Kashmiri Muslims.   

Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that during Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group PML (N) rule in Punjab province and Federation of Pakistan, Christian village Shanti Nagar was burnt down by Muslim mob, incident of Bahawalpur Church massacre happened in which over dozen worshipers were martyr, Gojra carnage took place where more than 50 homes were burnt down and 8 Christians were burnt alive, In Village Korian Christian homes were destroyed, Joseph Colony Lahore was set of fire, Christian homes were destroyed  in village Bahmni Wala, Peshawar Church was attacked killing more than hundred, Youhanabad Lahore Churches were attacked killing over dozen but none of Muslim culprit in these heinous crimes is punished but his government in Punjab promoted police officer who turned blind eyes when Muslim mob was destroying homes and Christian children, women and elderly man was burnt alive.

“Prime Minister of Pakistan mentions violations of Human Rights in Palestine and Kashmir in his speech but forgets incidents of hundreds of gang rape of Christian women, enforced conversion to Islam and marriage to influential Muslims when parents and husbands of these Christian women victims knock on every door for justice but culprits are protected in Punjab province which his PML (N) rules but justice is never ensure” added Nazir Bhatti

PCC Chief said that more than one dozen Christians have been martyred on accusations of blasphemy laws and over 24 are behind bars but Nawaz Sharif failed to stop misuse of blasphemy law in Pakistan to victimize religious minorities but he voices for human rights of militia groups of Kashmir and Palestine which is contrary to revival of true spirit of human rights enshrined in Universal Declaration of UN Human Right.

Nazir Bhatti said that it is situation of human rights in Pakistan that a common Christian cannot dine in any dining place or on roadside vendor because he is treated as Infidel and untouchable by Muslims which is worst shape of violation of human rights but Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif never legislated any law to prevent such human rights violation.

Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that situation of human rights in Pakistan is not up to mark and Nawaz Sharif speech contents on human rights in UNGA are substandard and denial in sate which he rules.
